Y2K

We can all so easily picture our future. We dream of things like going to college, starting families, buying new cars. We all find it so easy to plan these things, they become our goals, whatever they may be. But have you ever wondered if your future was already planned out for you? We are amidst a countdown for the end of the world, and it is called Y2K.

For the past few years we have all heard on the news or on the radio about the biggest catastrophe of all time. It has been in the newspaper, and written about in books; the worst computer crisis of our time. The deadline is January 1st, 2000. The time it will hit is Midnight. This is to be our celebration of the new year, a new time to start over, not to anticipate the end of the world! On this specific date and time, our lives as we know them, are almost assured to be over. Our phone lines, televisions, gas, heat, and water are all supposed to suffer from this event. There have been preparation guides in our own newspapers on how we should start stocking up on water, candles, and food. We have even been warned about our bank accounts and the possible loss of money. Sure, no one will mind a few extra days off of work, but this has been predicted to go on for months. The books say that we should have been preparing for this long ago. The problem was only recognized a few years ago. How are we supposed to prepare now? There is too much time to be spent preparing computers and essential utilities. We don't have the time to prepare. We can only hope for the worst NOT to come. Of course, numerous establishments and companies assure us all that they are, indeed, "Y2K Compatible." But, there is always the question of, what if it does?

Where does the government stand in all this? As far as I can tell, maybe a little too close. If we take note of all the Y2K phenomena, you may notice that the government has not played too much of a role in all this. If we hear anything, it is about how screwed up they are going to be, and how it will affect us. So far, all the blame has been set upon the faults in computer programming. It has been referred to as 'minuscule' and 'a slight obsolete error'. This sure does seem like one hell of an error and could be devastating to the economy! Imagine waking up New Year's day freezing. No, not because your kids were playing with the heater the night before, but because there was NO heat. What would you do? I would probably curse for quite some time as I piled on the many layers needed to keep warm. I then would go try to call the gas company, but wouldn't be able to, due to the phones' inability to work.

PAST AND CURRENT ISSUES
AFFECTING "Y2K"

Did anyone notice that we were at war recently, or at least almost? The whole infamous tale of Kosovo...well, what did you think? Sure, many people shrugged it off as another flaw in the government, another waste of time. What exactly was the point of it all? To show that we, America, were still the biggest and the best? Was it to prove that we will always stand up and get it in gear when there is a problem? It lasted for a few nice long months, we "accidentally" blew up a few things, and guess what? Nothing became of it. We still have a few troops down there monitoring the way things are currently going, 'keeping the peace', as they say. Obviously, the way America was attempting to keep the peace ticked a few people off. For example, why did China join the charade AGAINST America? Why did Russia join their side? What were we doing over there that fluffed their wings the wrong way to get them involved? Did we ever get the real story? I doubt it. American troops went over there to "straighten" things up a bit, calm things a bit down. We created, instead, an uproar. To this day, I wonder, was it worth all the hassle. Maybe to the ones in charge it was and it seemed necessary. What was accomplished? The only thing we succeeded in was getting angry and others angry, as well.

It has been said and prophesized that the United States will find itself amidst a World War III. Finally, for the first time in history, there will be an all-out nuclear war and also for the first time, this war will touch American land. Not touch the hearts of people, but the land itself. We will finally be attacked here, not on foreign soil. Sure, it is only heresy or stories out of books, but what if it is the time? Seems probable enough. America stepped into Kosovo to take charge, a few people got a little fumed and there was a time of fighting. A very common emotion does happen to be revenge. Why wouldn't the people that we were against not want to get back at us? Or maybe...the government found a way to fulfill a plan, to fulfill their master plan. In case you do not know, we are at the stand point of nuclear war. There has been quite some time spent on developing bigger, better, and more powerful weapons. Not just within America, but in other countries as well. The sad part is, this has been going on for years! No one puts a stop to it, and any feeble attempts merely end up in another brawl. Paranoid, the government searches for evidence in other countries of any nuclear activity going on. The government here in America has basically banned the study and production of any nuclear weapon (at least it has according to the information that the government provides the common citizen), or what may be used as a weapon in small countries around the world. It is supposed to be a way of keeping peace amongst the world. Undoubtedly, it has not worked yet, things just quiet down every so often. But has the government here in our homeland honestly forgotten that there are such things as enemies? I don't think so, actually. I think that the government may know a little too well for the population's own good. I believe that they, the government, have finally planned an attack on those who may be threatening. I believe that that plan of attack will strike on January 1st, 2000 at one minute past Midnight.

CONSPIRACY

Everyone has their own personal issues that they keep behind closed doors, pushing them aside for a rainy day. Everyone. Sometimes they don't acknowledge them, and other times they dwell on them. Once upon a time, when America was shown to be weak, one of their strongest military bases, Pearl Harbor, was obliterated. Since then, it has been a constant quest to be the strongest. Along with this quest comes a greed that surfaces unlike any. It is this greed, this hunger for power that leads to the conspiracy.

For years, in the up and coming world, the quest for greater knowledge has been present. It is a constant way to achieve power. Along this journey for knowledge, other people have followed on this quest thus making it unachievable for anyone to be number one. The American government has attempted in controlling the growth of knowledge in other countries, but has failed endlessly. That is obviously showing that the government is not as in control as they would like to be. Do you think that it bothers them, irks them in some sort of way? Sure, it may not be the first thing that they think about, but I am sure it lurks there somewhere. Think about it. For years, they have attempted to control (or at least keep an eye on) other countries progress in their development of technology and weapons. Within all this time, the progression of knowledge has increased and become more existant, even though the government has attempted to control it. The question is, what will they do for America to remain the most powerful country in the world? They will have to destroy what threatens them. This will all begin on January 1st, 2000 at 12:01 am.

The attack will begin early that morning, whether it will be silent or full blown. The silent attack will begin with in our own country. The economy will fall horribly with the failure in computers and main technology stream. No power, no heat, nothing but the overwhelming frustration of loss of necessities, way of living and the unknowing of when things will be okay. Across the country, banks are failing and stock prices are dropping. By the end of the week, frustration is increased with further problems trying to retrieve money and making purchases at stores. People within the society are growing more and more agitated with events occurring since the new year. As time progresses, riots begin at grocery stores, gas stations, even simple strip malls. Credit cards are failing, cash has become almost impossible to access. People have become desperate with the newfound turmoil. Days pass and riots continue, police are everywhere making arrests and trying to calm things a bit. But even they are becoming restless. Things aren't working out for anyone.

Out east, within the Washington D.C. area, plans are being made. Technological problems don't seem to be as traumatic here. The government officials are organizing their main officials and are preparing for meetings. Now, we would think that these meetings would be for the better of the economy, to find a way to solve the problems that have arisen within their country. Wrong. It is time for the meeting that will bring about the end.

Across the nation, problems are slowly being solved, but not enough fast enough to stop the chaos. Riots continue to grow, and people have grown anxious and uncontrollable. As time progresses within the same few early months, things grow more tense amongst the people. Nothing seems to be working out with computers, and regaining any kind of stable financial status seems impossible. America has slowly fallen into a depression again.

The heads of our government have finally succeeded in their plan. American society has fallen and is struggling horribly to regain its status. So it is finally time for them to make their move. Now, with the way society was headed, people would be more susceptible war. People wouldn't find it as threatening because life had become hectic enough. Sure, there would be people out there that would care, but if a war could bring them out of depression, then it would be a plausible cause. With the new year, the economy would have fallen drastically, to a point of desperation. As history will repeat itself, the depression of 2000 will be even worse than that of 1929. There are more people now and it is extremely difficult to bring ourselves up again to a more comfortable status. Jobs are harder and harder to find, and money has depleted quickly trying to fix all the problems and trying to compensate for everything that has gone wrong. It is a planned failure, so that the government finally has the excuse needed to attack. It would bring the economy up, right? Sure it would. Going to war will provide jobs for many people and money can grow once again. Would the government really go to this extreme? Yes, and it has already begun, since the later half of 1999.

Going back briefly, our American government "accidentally" bombed the Chinese Embassy. Do we now, really think of it as an accident? We have been at odd terms with China since Kosovo. Even Russia was involved in Kosovo, on China's side. Have you ever heard the philosophy that the end of the world would come when the Eagle, Bear, and Dragon fought? Well, if we consider the symbols of America, Russia, and China, we will find that they match up perfectly.

When the Chinese Embassy was bombed, I am certain they were not too happy. Especially, if America told them it was just an accident. Something like bombing an embassy is enough to make anyone suspicious. Maybe what we the people do not know, is that the Chinese are a little perturbed. Why would the U.S. bomb an embassy? It is too big of a mistake to be made without some sort of meaning behind it. This would all work out perfectly for our government. They would have another excuse for an attack. China would be angry and wanting to know why the embassy was bombed and maybe even a little threatening towards America. With America threatened, this would be the perfect time to declare war.

So begins the war of all wars. Within America's society already, people are angry and frustrated, more than willing for a fight. The society has already become aggressive towards each other, going to war would just be an additive to our frustration. But this time, things will have gone too far. Because of America's severe problems, the government will be able to take this war into a full out take over. To achieve this, to be the strongest, America will have to go nuclear. The worst fear that has ever been imagined would finally be coming true. A nuclear war for the final claim of who is in charge. With this war, cities will be eliminated, millions of people will die. The most frightening part will be that for the first time since the civil war, America will fight a war on its own soil. We will be attacked from other countries here in our own towns, our own homes. The people may not be here to directly attack, but their weapons will. When the government attacks with nuclear weapons, there will be no second thoughts from the people being attacked to hurt us on our own turf. Many people will die, and there will be nothing to do to stop it.

HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON AND HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
